The city obtains 5 distinctions of “Commitment to Tourism Quality in the Cieza destination”.

On June 16th, the SICTED Distinction Committee approved awarding the "Commitment to Tourism Quality" distinction to five establishments in Cieza. This decision was reached at the aforementioned committee meeting. The businesses and organizations that meet quality standards to provide the best customer service are two official local tourist guides, the Folklore Interpretation Center, the Cieza Holy Week Museum, and the Municipal Tourist Office.

Cieza is aligned with the message of quality tourism, as it has already signed up its first 5 establishments and many more are expected to do so in the coming months, which demonstrates that Cieza is immersed in the continuous improvement of all its services.

The SICTED program is a quality improvement initiative for tourist destinations, promoted by the State Secretariat for Tourism with the support of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces. It works with tourism services across 36 different sectors, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the tourist experience and satisfaction. In the Region of Murcia, the Directorate General for Tourism Competitiveness and Quality promotes this initiative, in this case with the collaboration of the Cieza City Council. Together with 17 other municipalities or consortia, they established the Region of Murcia's Smart Tourism Destination (DTI) Committee last Tuesday, the 14th—the first of its kind for the Autonomous Communities in the entire country.

The Comprehensive System of Tourism Quality in Destinations provides benefits for the visitor, increases tourist satisfaction, enhances the perception of reliability of the offer, and promotes the identification and recognition of those destinations with a level of quality that meets their expectations.

At the destination, it contributes to achieving optimal positioning of the destination, ensuring a good image of the destination, implementing a culture of quality and continuous improvement of the destination, and improving coordination between the public and private sectors.
