The City Council has distributed 20,000 €10 vouchers, putting €200,000 in the pockets of residents, generating an economic turnover of more than €600,000 in the Ciezan economy.

The "We're a 10" campaign concluded a few weeks ago. The initiative, promoted and fully funded by the Cieza City Council, has successfully stimulated trade and consumption in the municipality while also helping families who shop locally.

The Department of Commerce, having completed the campaign's assessment, maintains that a total of 143 establishments participated, receiving 20,000 vouchers worth 10 euros each. Thus, the Cieza City Council has put 200,000 euros in the pockets of consumers to, on the one hand, ease the financial burden of shopping and, on the other, encourage economic activity in Cieza's shops and hospitality establishments. Municipal sources indicate that the goal has been successfully met because, based on average sales figures, the Cieza City Council, with an investment of 200,000 euros, has managed to mobilize a financial capital of at least 600,000 euros in Cieza's shops and hospitality establishments in just a few weeks. At the same time, the sum contributed by the City Council has remained in the pockets of consumer families.

“The objective of the campaign was clear. With it, we aimed for something we've successfully achieved, as has happened in previous editions: to ease the burden on consumers and increase consumption in local businesses and hospitality establishments,” said Pascual Lucas, Mayor of Cieza, adding that “this campaign is just another example of good management, a new step that shows we're on the side of citizens, retailers, and hospitality industry professionals. The government team I lead is focused on helping people. On this occasion, the need was to ease the burden on people's shopping baskets as much as possible, and we've done just that, just as we did during the pandemic and will continue to do so as often as necessary to meet the needs of citizens.”

The Councilor for Commerce, María Jesús López, responsible for creating the campaign, expresses her satisfaction at "having made possible, once again, a campaign that energizes and mobilizes consumption in the hospitality and retail sectors of Cieza." Based on the aforementioned data, she asserts that "this new campaign has been a success, exponentially increasing consumption in our local establishments. There's nothing I like more than facts, and it's a fact that the work being carried out highlights our local community and helps lighten the shopping basket because it takes into account the needs of citizens and the global situation."
