Holy Week in Cieza is twinned with the Italian Holy Week in Trapani.

Last weekend, specifically on January 27, 28, 29 and 30, a delegation of 42 people, with representatives of the Brotherhoods and Sisterhoods of Holy Week of Cieza headed by the Board of Passion Brotherhoods with its president, Mr. Joaquín D. Gómez Rubio and its counselor, Mr. José Antonio García López, at the head, traveled to the Sicilian city of Trapani to confirm the official signing in a first phase of the Twinning between the Unione Maestranze di Trapani and the Cieza entity.

One of the main events was the presentation of Holy Week in Cieza, led by the president and the councilor, where several videos were shown detailing the characteristics and peculiarities of Holy Week in Cieza. The other event was the official signing of the twinning agreement, held before the Bishop of Trapani, Pietro Maria Fragnelli.

On Friday, upon arrival in Trapani, the Nazarene delegation from Cieza was welcomed by its Bishop. Later, in the Church of the Holy Souls in Purgatory, in the presence of the Vicar General of the Diocese, Rev. D. Alberto Maria Genovese, a floral offering was made to the image of L'Addolorata and the exhibition "United by the Passion" was inaugurated.

The main day of the events was Saturday. First, a procession took place with the two delegations, from the Church of the Holy Souls in Purgatory to Palazzo D'Ali. Afterward, and before the Presentation, there was a reception by Mayor Giacomo Tranchida and the Municipal Council of Trapani. In the afternoon, an Official Reception was held at the headquarters of the Italian entity, with the exchange of various gifts. This was followed by Holy Mass, officiated by the Bishop of Trapani. At the end, the Twinning Ceremony took place with the signing of the two entities and the presentation of the symbol that the Unione Maestranze will carry in the processions. The day concluded with a concert by various musical bands.

On Sunday and Monday, several cultural visits were made to Palermo and Erice, being received in the second city by its mayor, Ms. Daniela Toscano.
