This Friday, February 3rd at 8pm at the Siyâsa Museum we will have an interesting conference called 'Board games in the times of Alfonso X and their reflection in the discoveries of Siyâsa' by the director of said museum, Joaquín Salmerón Juan from Cieza.

One of the activities that the Christian conquerors who lived in the houses of Siyāsa did between 1243 and the end of the 13th century was to play alquerque of 9 and alquerque of 12. The latter was the origin of the game of checkers.

These two board games and chess are present in the archaeological finds from the Siyāsa Site.
