Discover the Siyâsa Museum

The Siyâsa Museum houses an extraordinary display of the archaeological and ethnographic heritage of the city of Cieza. Its halls feature a legacy of prehistoric rock art, declared a World Heritage Site in 1998, such as the Serreta Cave-Pitch and the Rooks' shelters, located within the ravine of the same name, highlighting the remains belonging to the 11th, 12th and 13th centuries of the Andalusian period, thanks to the remains found in the uninhabited Medina Siyâsa, one of the most interesting archaeological sites of Western Islam.

Divided into four levels, the Siyâsa Museum presents a journey through the past of the important municipality of Cieza, transporting us back in time from a prehistoric cave like the Serreta cave to the oil mills of the 20th century. It houses artifacts and archaeological remains from the Paleolithic to the recent past. It also houses rock art from the Paleolithic to the Bronze Age.

Inside the museum, the life-size reproductions of houses number 6 and 10, and their Andalusian arches found in the excavations carried out in the area, deserve special attention. Medina Siyâsa site, located on the southern slope of the Castle Hill.
