Cieza City Council reports that the Tourism Institute (ITREM) is offering 22 gastronomic experiences to fully enjoy the Region of Murcia. These are original, unique, and immersive plans, promoted by companies in the sector, taking place in 14 municipalities. All the proposals can be found on the website 1001saboresrm.es, where you can also search for experiences by municipality, date, duration, or price.
Among the plans offered by the Autonomous Community is the so-called Enter the color and flavor of the Cieza peach, an experience in which you can enjoy the Cieza in bloom with a guided tour of different places in this Murcian town, where you can see the trees in bloom and learn about the growth and ripening process of these fruit trees. After the tour of the BloomVisitors enjoy lunch and can purchase, among other typical products, preserves and jams.
Other experiences offered through this platform include a refreshing rafting trip through the rice fields of Calasparra, an activity that includes a photo shoot and rice tasting; or embarking on a traditional fishing trip in the Mar Menor in San Pedro del Pinatar. You can also learn to brew craft beer, become a farmer for a day, plant a fruit tree, take part in a wine getaway, delve into the food of the future through microalgae, olive oil tourism, and hydroponic crops, or create and taste chocolate trompe l'oeil.
'1,001 Flavors of the Region of Murcia'
The acting Minister for the Presidency, Tourism, Culture, Youth, Sports and Spokesperson, Marcos Ortuño, emphasized that "all the proposals that have been activated for this summer are part of the '1,001 Flavors of the Region of Murcia' gastro-experience catalog, an initiative promoted by the Community to highlight local products and diverse natural environments, boost the local economy, generate employment, and foster gastronomic identity, both within and outside the Region."
Ortuño also emphasized that "the uniqueness of these experiences lies in the fact that they not only allow you to taste typical products and dishes, but also to experience, learn, enjoy, and participate in the regional culinary culture firsthand."
The gastronomic experience catalogue '1,001 Flavours of the Region of Murcia' is part of the Gastronomic Tourism Plan, which continues the Region's recognition as the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy (CEG) in 2020-2021 and, likewise, supports the objective of promoting gastronomy as set out in the Strategic Tourism Plan 2022-2032.
