Eduardo López dedicated his Gold Star in Martial Arts to all victims of gender-based violence, especially the women and children who are no longer with us. He was also the only Murcian to receive the award this year.
Eduardo López Giménez received the highest honor in the martial arts last Saturday, June 24th, from the Council of Martial Arts Masters of Spain. This third edition of the awards ceremony, recognized worldwide, took place in the auditorium of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of Córdoba.
The event was attended by civil figures from all over Spain and was attended by important masters of Karate, Judo, Aikido and Ju Jitsu who were decorated together with Eduardo López, such as the Japanese master based in Spain Choyu Hentona, 9th Dan of Karate, the Argentine Augusto Delfos González (who held high management positions in the 80s and who today, at 85 years old, continues to practice Karate), the father of Tai Chi and Wushu in Spain Juan Carlos Serrato, or the karateka Fernando Rivera Román, from Cádiz.
The honorary matron of honor was the popular Spanish artist Coral Bistuer, former world and Olympic Taekwondo champion. Along with the president of the Council of Masters, Alfonso Acosta, they were responsible for presenting the various decorations in a solemn ceremony honoring the masters whose good work has contributed to the widespread use of martial arts, ensuring the maintenance of traditional martial arts values as a doctrine that gives meaning to the proper training of practitioners, thereby exalting the highest human virtues.
They also had the pleasure of being joined by Master Salvador Herraiz Embid, who was also awarded a Gold Star for his long career promoting this martial art and for his tremendous work in furthering it over the past several decades. Herraiz is the author of the book "King Juan Carlos and Prince Felipe (Two Soldiers in Romantic Spanish Karate)" and a columnist for nearly all specialized martial arts magazines in several countries.
The Council of Martial Arts Masters of Spain is a cultural institution designed to promote moral, human, and ethical values within the world of martial arts.
The Gold Star of the Council
The primary purpose of this award is to recognize and honor the professional work of teachers who have pursued a serious line of work. Individuals who have dedicated many years to teaching, encouraging them to continue persevering along the path of Martial Arts with humility, setting an example through their work.
The medal is composed of a lustrous gold eight-pointed star, representing the light that illuminates the right path. In its center is another similar star, around which you can read the Latin inscription: "NUNQUAN AB RECTO ITINERE DE ERRAS" and two Greek letters, Alpha and Omega, the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. These two letters symbolize the path we must follow throughout our lives. Around the central star, you can read the Latin inscription that has become the slogan or creed of our organization, and whose translation means:
"NEVER LOSE THE RIGHT PATH"
