The Department of Education of the Cieza City Council, headed by María Turpín, is committed to continuing the Peer Tutoring Program (TEI) for the 2023/24 school year.
The TEI program is an institutional coexistence program that involves the entire educational community. It is based on peer emotional mentoring, where respect, empathy, and commitment are the basic pillars of its development in educational centers. It aims to improve school integration and work toward an inclusive and nonviolent school. It is aimed at improving or modifying the school's climate and culture regarding coexistence, conflict, and violence.
The coordinators of the Cieza TEI Program met to outline the lines of work for the school year, organizing inter-school activities to improve coexistence and prevent bullying. In this way, the achievements will have a greater impact on the educational community and raise awareness in society at large, according to sources from the council's office.
This school year, all primary schools have joined the TEI Program, with 12 currently participating, thus making Cieza a TEI City, "something of utmost importance to achieving a city free of bullying."
