The Mayor of Cieza, Tomás Rubio, and the Councilor for Culture, María Turpín, have presented the city's first Autumn Festival. The program will run through next weekend, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The festival includes a photography contest titled "Autumn Lights," inspired by the suggestion of local photographer Fernando Galindo, which aims to aesthetically highlight the Cieza landscapes, shimmering with the autumnal hue. The deadline for submitting photographs is November 6–30. Rules, registration, and submission of images are available at https://concursos.website/The jury's decision will be announced on December 5th at 8:00 p.m. in the Padre Salmerón Library. The first prize is €300, the second prize is €200, and the third prize is €100.

The highlight of this festival will be the musical show Tributo Mecano Eternal on Saturday, November 11th at 9:00 PM at the Capitol Theater. Free admission with an invitation. Tickets can be picked up at the theater box office from Tuesdays from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Gastronomic Days

On Sunday the 12th, the gastronomic workshop will feature the preparation of typical Cieza dishes to showcase and pay homage to the municipality's traditional and indigenous cuisine. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at CICOLA, in the Plaza de Abastos. This is a free workshop with limited space for 21 participants. Registration is available via cultura@cieza.es.

Turpín emphasized that "this is a project, the mayor's personal idea, born with great humility because its first edition will feature a simple program of activities, but with the aim of expanding and expanding its recreational and cultural offerings in future editions. The festival aims to highlight the beauty of autumn in our region."

For his part, the mayor concluded by clarifying that "the idea is for Ciezans and tourists alike to enjoy our culture, our heritage, and our nature throughout all four seasons. We were yet to discover autumn, and this festival was born with the aspiration of making it the centerpiece."
