Cieza is a municipality with a strong tradition of volunteering, as reflected in the variety and number of associations that carry out their activities in sectors as diverse as physical and mental disabilities, children, the elderly, people at risk of social exclusion, cultural, sports, and animal welfare, among others.
Therefore, volunteer work is a fundamental pillar in the functioning of these organizations, since, without their role, many of their activities would be impossible.
Volunteering is a very rewarding task, but it's also often difficult and undervalued. Therefore, the commemoration of World Volunteer Day highlights the work of those who work for others and thus make our world a better place, almost unwittingly achieving goal 16 of the 2030 Agenda, which calls for promoting just, peaceful, and inclusive societies; where there are volunteers, there are no differences between people.
Cieza has a long tradition of volunteering, being a municipality with a strong sense of solidarity, which it has always demonstrated. Therefore, the local council and the person in charge of Volunteering, Councilor María Turpín Herrera, express their gratitude and recognition to all those who give something essential to human beings: their time.
