The José Vargas Municipal Library in Abarán hosted a meeting this Wednesday with the participation of José Emilio Palazón, mayor of Ojós; councilors María Turpín from Cieza, Anabella Rosa Peragón from Ricote, Lucrecia Garrido Guillén from Ulea, Penélope Luna and Fátima Saorín from Abarán; and the library managers of those municipalities, as well as the library of Villanueva del Segura, who will also be joined by those of Blanca and Archena, with the aim of pooling cultural resources and promoting reading among all.
In this initial meeting, it was agreed to create a cultural network called "The Valley of the Wise. Culture in the Ricote Valley" with the participation of the aforementioned municipalities. To this end, joint programming will be carried out, kicking off with the Book Fair around April 23rd.
The project will also involve organizing cultural, musical, literary, and exhibition cycles.
