Our youngest players, Juan Marín CiezaEB, give us a lesson in play, dedication, and enthusiasm in every match they play, regardless of the result. Last weekend, they faced UCAM, one of the most important and prestigious clubs in the regional competition, and although they couldn't claim victory, they made up for their 2.4 defeat.

The U12 training camp held on Saturday morning offered a very good game played by both teams, with great intensity, accurate shots, and excitement until the very end. It was a very close game where both teams deserved the victory, with great attitude from all the players. In short, it was a basketball celebration once again, in which the Cieza team won by just three points, 83-80.

On Sunday morning the CI-CARS Cieza EB children's team faced Jairis Alcantarilla in a very close match from start to finish where both teams showed a very even level, the match was played with great equality in all periods at half time 26/24 and it was only in the last period where due to fatigue those from Cieza gave up, something that Jairis took advantage of, more focused and more physical to get the game back on track, making a partial of 16/8 in the last period which was enough to win the game. Congratulations to both teams for their great physical effort and great sportsmanship.

A hard-fought defeat for the Fibranet CiezaEB Cadet B team, 66-73, against Marme. The San Javier boys started the game better, with clearer ideas and playing at ease. After a mandatory timeout, the Cieza team matched their opponent's level, taking the lead on the scoreboard. However, the halftime score was still a tight 38-40. With everything to play for in the second half, the Cieza team dominated in the third quarter with accurate defense and good offensive acumen, yet the score remained fairly even. With a 3-point lead at the start of the fourth quarter, the home team grew nervous in the final minutes, accumulating unforced errors that led to a 66-73 defeat, although they fought back until the end. Without a doubt, games like this will serve to improve for the rest of the season.

Cadet Transportes Corredor's home victory over Monteagudo, 82-43, kept them looking up in Plata 1. The game started evenly, with both teams playing well on offense and with several alternating scores. At the end of the first quarter, the Cieza team went all out on defense, leaving the visitors with no options at the basket. This trend prevailed throughout the second quarter, when a 28-2 score sealed the game in the first 20 minutes. After the break, the home team didn't let up, remaining focused on defense. However, in the final quarter, the visitors showed their character and improved their performance, although they could do nothing to prevent the great victory of Corredor Ciezaeb Cadet A, which adds confidence points to face the final stretch of the season with the goal of competing for first place in the standings.

A basketball celebration and a reflection of how well things are done at CiezaEB, what we witnessed on Saturday morning: a fratricidal derby in which the two CiezaEB junior teams faced each other. An excellent group of kids divided into two teams who, although with very different goals, share the same desire to progress as athletes and as individuals under the watchful eye of the entire CiezaEB technical and human staff. The result is the least of it, although logic prevailed and CiezaEB A defeated CiezaEB B 52-77, taking another step on their path to promotion to the Silver League.

The slim hopes our second-tier regional team had against the undefeated leader of the competition faded in the first quarter. The first quarter ended with a 22-5 lead, and from then on, they were always trailing. Clear improvements were evident in our defensive play, almost completely stopping the home side's two towering players, although their effectiveness from the free throw line also served them well. As for our offense, it was fluid and intense at times, although we sometimes erred on the side of naiveté against a team determined to secure promotion. The final score was 80-47, and despite the result, we felt good about the result. We finished the first half of the season in seventh place and will play the second half against teams from the other group in the competition. The match promises to be exciting and competitive.
