Personnel assigned to the Infomur Plan, which combats forest fires in the Region of Murcia, have been mobilized to extinguish a farm fire in Cieza.
At 4:35 p.m., the 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center received a call reporting a fire at the Finca del Taraón in Cieza.
The caller explained that a tractor driver was creating a firebreak to prevent the fire from spreading.
A forestry brigade and an environmental agent arrived at the scene and reported that the fire was spreading to a hill in the public forest.
At 6:53 p.m., the fire was declared extinguished, and environmental agents and forestry crews withdrew. It is estimated that approximately 2,500 square meters of esparto grass had been burned.
