An individual is being investigated for simulating a sexual assault in Cieza. The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has conducted Operation "Mentida" in Cieza, an investigation initiated to clarify a sexual assault allegedly committed by three individuals. The investigation has resulted in the complainant being investigated and a case has been opened against her as a suspected perpetrator of simulating a crime, after verifying that the reported crime did not occur.

The investigation into the alleged assault begins in May.

The investigation began last May when a woman reported to the Civil Guard that she had been sexually assaulted by three individuals unknown to her. According to the complainant, the individuals threatened her at knifepoint before carrying out the assault, taking turns.

In the complaint, she also stated that she was coerced into making a cash payment to the alleged perpetrators, leading her to allegedly sell valuables from her family home to comply with the attackers' demands.

The person under investigation is alleged to be responsible for the crime of simulating a crime.

Judicial Police officers from the Benemérita (Benemérita) began the operation to verify the events and, if necessary, clarify them, but none of the numerous investigations carried out by investigators could corroborate the alleged victim's version of events.

During their investigations, the Civil Guard located one of the stores where the victim had allegedly sold valuables to provide cash for her attackers, but the statements were found to be completely inconsistent.

The Civil Guard confirmed that the reported sexual assault never took place. The main hypothesis being considered by investigators is that the complainant tried to justify the absence of valuables from her home to her family with this bizarre story.

Once all the necessary evidence was obtained, the Civil Guard has investigated the complainant of the sexual assault, and has been charged with simulating a crime.
