The Department of Sports, in collaboration with various physical education teachers at Cieza schools, is promoting a new format for the School Sports Program.

To this end, it has been taken into account that the principles that inspire this program, in addition to being sporting, are formative, educational and recreational, so athletes, physical education teachers, coaches, parents' associations, referees, managers and directors must give special treatment to these activities, trying together to transmit to the school-age athlete the principles of fair play, respect for the environment, camaraderie and healthy lifestyle practices, rejection of violence and doping and the integration of all members of a team without discrimination of any kind.

Primary education

In primary education, for example, "it has been decided not to carry out classifications for each of the sports in order to avoid competitiveness and to promote integration and cooperation among students. In this way, the pre-sport activities of twincon, mate and colpbol (activities that are very popular and are being very well received by students at their schools) have been added to the sports that were already being practiced: futsal, 3x3, handball, volleyball, chess, badminton and table tennis."

Regarding secondary school sports, chess, volleyball, and 3x3 competitions have already been held. We are pleased to report that this new format is being very well received by the students of Cieza.

The statement from the municipal department headed by Cristo Manuel Lucas concludes by stating that, with the return of students to their schools in January after the Christmas holidays, the school sports program will be resumed.
