The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'Litri', an investigation initiated to comply with an arrest and imprisonment order, issued by a court in Murcia, which has culminated in the location and arrest of an experienced criminal who has been caught in a country house in Cieza.
The investigation began when the Civil Guard was tracking a seasoned criminal, for whom a court order for arrest and imprisonment had been issued for several residential burglaries. The suspect had been a fugitive from justice for over a year and his whereabouts were unknown.
Investigators from the Civil Guard knew that he frequently changed locations and had stayed at several homes of acquaintances and relatives. To avoid detection, he also moved discreetly.
The clues obtained allowed them to focus their search on the municipality of Cieza, where it was suspected that he might have taken refuge in a country house, located on a family estate.
The results of the investigation were brought to the attention of the judicial authority, which granted the corresponding search and seizure warrant.
A large police force, consisting of citizen security units, investigation units and the drone team, carried out the search of the property.
The suspect, far from cooperating, fled the house on foot, running through fields whose vegetation also provided cover from detection. However, the drone pilots, who were tracking his escape from the air, directed the movements of the Civil Guard officers who were pursuing him on foot.
The operation ended with his arrest and his being brought before a judge.
