The Firefighting and Rescue Consortium of the Region (CEIS) is in a period of expansion and growth, which is evident in the calls for job offers and the investments allocated to these emergency infrastructures approved by the regional government.

The Minister of the Presidency, Spokesperson, Foreign Action and Emergencies, Marcos Ortuño, who visited the Jumilla fire station today, accompanied by the mayor of the municipality, Seve González, explained that since the summer of 2024, 141 positions have been created or announced to expand the Consortium's staff, which "will improve the provision of the service and result in greater safety for citizens."

Furthermore, the process initiated by the regional government to modernize and strengthen the technical resources available to professionals has been supported by the approval of a budget of nearly €26 million to carry out significant initiatives. Along with the allocation of resources for acquiring equipment, the regional minister highlighted the launch of a selection process to recruit 36 new staff members to the Consortium, the approval of a job offer for 49 additional positions, and the improvement of working conditions for existing staff.

Marcos Ortuño emphasized that these measures reflect "the fulfillment of demands from the firefighters of the Region of Murcia, which is complemented by the acquisition of new material resources and improvements in the fire stations."

In this way, he assured that "we are making progress in the security strategy that we have promoted, based on increasing the staff and improving the working conditions and material resources that the CEIS has to provide its service."

Regarding the Jumilla fire station, its current staff consists of 16 personnel, specifically, a sergeant, 5 corporals and 10 firefighters, and they have at their disposal five vehicles assigned to the station: a BUL1000, a BUL2000, a heavy rural vehicle, a water tanker and an extendable arm truck.

Over the past five years, they have carried out an average of 200 interventions annually. According to 2025 statistics, fires, rescues, and traffic accidents accounted for the majority of their interventions, which were more frequent on Sundays.
