Last week, the new ambassadors of the Moorish and Christian faction were presented, thus kicking off the events planned for the 2017 Mid-Year Festivities of the "La Invasión" Shield Festival in Cieza.
Following the football match at Campo de la Era, where the Moorish side played against the Christian side, and the 3rd Gastronomic Days of Typical Ciezan Food this past Sunday, and following the lecture by Fernando García and Ángela Lucas this Tuesday, the activities for the Mid-Year Festive continue. Here is the schedule of the rest of the organized activities.
Wednesday 25th:
9:00 p.m., Cajamurcia classroom, appointment of the Kabila's standard-bearer, Andelma.
Thursday 26th:
9:00 p.m., Hermitage of San Bartolomé, concert by Pablo Ato, Anne Ramón and Capella Ad Libitum.
Friday 27th:
8:00 p.m., Plaza de España, opening of the medieval market, with a performance of Arabic dances by the Medieval Dance Group 'All Dance'.
Saturday 28th:
11:00 a.m., Plaza de España, 3rd Popular Days with Moorish Tea tasting, Children's Medieval Clothing Workshop, Medieval Painting Workshop, and Mayorajitos tasting.
6:00 p.m., Plaza de España, gathering of Kabilas and troops, followed by a parade to the Aurelio Guirao Auditorium.
7:30 p.m., Aurelio Guirao Auditorium, appointment ceremony for festival officials, where the name of the town crier will be revealed and the poster for the 2018 "La Invasión" Shield Festival will be presented. Free admission.
9:30 p.m., La Paloma Celebration Hall, Appointment ceremony for Corporals, Captains, and Standard-bearers for the upcoming 2018 Coat of Arms celebrations, followed by a fellowship dinner.
Sunday 29th:
6:00 p.m., Chapel of San Bartolomé, celebration of the traditional mid-year mass in honor of San Bartolomé, officiated by the priest José Antonio García.
