The Department of Works and Services reports the completion of the renovation work on the Esquina del Convento, which has repaired the damaged slate floor and improved the aesthetics of this central public space.

For Francisco Saorín, head of this municipal area, "these works have solved the problem of deterioration of the slate and quartzite soil, replacing the damaged areas of the pavement with granite material, which is more resistant and therefore will last longer and require less investment in maintenance."

Furthermore, "the aesthetics of this central area of our town will be greatly improved, as the renovation of the floor will be complemented by the placement of flower pots and the free improvements established in the contract, such as the covering of the existing pergola with wood, as well as the painting of the adjacent area of the Promenade in the colors of the LGBTI flag, complying with the plenary agreement unanimously approved by all groups."

For Saorín, this project has been "an example of good management, as from an initial budget of €78,098, €65,219 was awarded, including the free improvements I mentioned earlier. This amount will be slightly increased following some measurement variations, but which will represent a saving of more than 15 percent compared to the estimated costs."

"This councilor's focus on the continuous improvement of all public spaces, regardless of neighborhood, will continue this year with the imminent start of construction work on Gran Vía, the renovation of Vereda de Morcillo, the removal of architectural barriers throughout the municipality, and the refurbishment of the second phase of the AP-2 highway. Many other projects will be added once the new budget is in place," the councilor concludes.
