The 4th Roma Intervention Project, funded by the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities and developed by the Department of Social Welfare of the Cieza City Council, began its work last December in collaboration with the Roma Secretariat and the Ocio-Educa Association.

The goal is to develop various activities aimed at raising the educational level of the adult Roma population, fostering and promoting their personal development while taking into account their social circumstances, and encouraging this community's participation in various activities planned by institutions in Cieza. This will raise awareness among the population and thus foster the social inclusion of this group.

"Over the years, we have worked to promote the role of Roma women in Cieza as a force for group cohesion, a transmitter of values, and an agent of social change, facilitating and promoting their personal development through workshops on motivation, gender equality, and social skills, as well as fostering their ability to make decisions, understand their own desires, and be able to act independently," explain sources from the Municipal Social Welfare Center.

Currently, approximately 15 women attend workshops on sewing, literacy, drug addiction, and job guidance. The workshops are held Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at a location located in Molinico de la Huerta. Additionally, from Monday to Thursday, from 4:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., a total of 38 minors participate in the project through reinforcement, guidance, and support activities, preventing and reducing school dropout rates and improving academic performance.
