The Ministry This Monday, the Ministry of Public Works hosted a meeting between the Mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas; the Councilor for Urban Planning, Francisco Saorín; and José Antonio Fernández Lladó, Director General of Highways. During the meeting, several important topics related to the municipality's infrastructure were discussed.

The meeting's objective was to secure a commitment and facilitate the signing of an agreement establishing the timelines for the city's necessary projects. "Although, following the recent changes in the regional government and the resulting instability, the interim general director's appointment postpones the CARM's commitment until the meeting with the new councilor," according to sources from the mayor's office.

The El Jinete Bridge was the first topic discussed. As explained, the governing team has made the necessary land available to the CARM (Carm) for the construction of the third bridge in this rural area, offering, in keeping with Pascual Lucas's commitment at the last plenary session, the City Council's collaboration in its financing and construction.

They point out that "this is a historic infrastructure for the development of our municipality. In addition to facilitating the transportation of products to manufacturing companies, it would improve communications with Cieza, which will have a positive impact on tourism in our town."

In addition, traffic management was requested on the old N301 highway, at its entrance to Cieza and where it merges with the road leading to the Lorenzo Guirao Hospital. This initiative aims to manage and adapt traffic flow on a road as busy as this one due to its junction with the Hospital.

On another note, the mayor expressed interest in the project to connect the A-30 motorway, near the La Cabaña restaurant, to the B-19 highway, "which runs alongside the Kalacho restaurant, already planned in 2010 and halted by the economic crisis."

Furthermore, the repair of the M-532 highway at its entrance to Cieza via the El Maripinar elm grove and the Puente de los Nueve Ojos bridge was also urged, highlighting "its necessity, since it is not in the best condition, insisting, in turn, on collaboration between administrations for the joint treatment of the maintenance and conservation of the natural monument that this elm grove represents."

Finally, the mayor's office hopes that the CARM "will offer collaboration and assistance to the City Council following the repeated meetings requested and held. If the City Council's intention and work meet the needs of the Regional Government, the same level of involvement must be achieved in the other direction."
