The Department of Works reports the completion of the work on the retaining wall of the Los Losares road, for an amount of 39,930 euros, which has repaired the damage caused by the collapse of the slope of a section of the road, as well as the Improvement of the Almadenes road for an amount of 8,943.22 euros.

For Francisco Saorín, the councilor for public works, "These works will return both roads to normal use, once the serious damage caused by runoff from recent torrential rains, which caused the banks to collapse, has been repaired."

"In the case of the work carried out on the Almadenes road, the Works Department declared it urgent due to the danger it posed to road traffic. The landslide had left the tread completely distorted, potentially causing vehicles to overturn, hence the technical declaration of emergency work."

Saorín clarifies that "the well-known old road through Los Losares has required major repairs, as the slopes have collapsed so severely that it has forced the road to be closed and rendered unusable, causing inconvenience to the entire rural neighborhood in the area."

"Both works have restored normal traffic conditions for a large group of affected residents in the two areas where they were carried out. Furthermore, the work has resulted in improved safety, as all repaired sections have been fitted with crash barriers."

Saorín wanted to make it clear that "we were aware of the need for these projects, but administrative timescales and bureaucracy aren't always as swift as we'd like. However, that doesn't prevent us from continuing on the path of addressing our neighbors' needs, in this case, also in terms of rural roads."
