In Podemos Cieza We held elections last Friday and Saturday. PRIMARY so that those registered with our party could vote for the people who volunteered to form an electoral list to compete, and win, in the upcoming municipal elections in May of this year. Primary which only we among the political parties in Cieza have carried out so far, exactly as they should be: with open ballot boxes over several days of voting, with an electoral board—comprised of a President and Secretary—a technical support team, ballots, software, etc.), thus further demonstrating our commitment to Participation and Transparency. There have been no assemblies to choose candidates, nor party apparatuses to point to those on the lists, etc.
From Podemos-CiezaWe would like to inform the residents of our city that, as a result of the primaries held, our colleague and Councillor for Museums has been proclaimed, PILAR MARTÍNEZ ROS, with 92.51% of the votes cast, as the lead candidate for Podemos in the Cieza City Council, and therefore, a candidate for Mayor of our city.
We want and must emphasize several things, as a result of this choice:
*First of all, what is the only woman who is running to preside over the city council (so far) and that this proclaims her as the first woman in the entire history of Cieza, who is chosen by a local political group to be Mayoress.
*That the bet because one Women Pilar's candidacy as Mayor of Cieza represents, for Podemos, a commitment to feminizing politics, to giving added value to something that has been an unjust social reality for women, who for so many centuries have been unable, and therefore excluded, from presiding over the highest municipal representative body. We hope that this candidacy, with Pilar at the helm, will be a social demand and a commitment to having a woman as Mayor of Cieza, with the aim that feminizing politics is about how politics is constructed, broadening perspectives, and ensuring diversity.
*That Pilar Martínez has, the municipal experience suitable for having served these 4 years as a city councilor, as well as for her excellent management in her duties as member of the Governing Team Municipal and as responsible for Museums in our city, something that everyone has been able to verify and can verify.
Also in the Primary The remaining candidates who will occupy the next positions on the list were voted on, and once their votes are processed through the DesBorda system, they will be assigned those positions (a system that assigns proportionality to the votes cast according to the order in which voters placed each candidate). They will receive this order in the coming days.
