Saint Mary of Arrixaca, the ancient patron saint of the Kingdom of Murcia, will arrive in Cieza this February, specifically from Thursday the 21st to Sunday the 25th.
On Friday the 22nd, it will arrive under a canopy to the Parish of the Assumption. The procession will be transferred from San Joaquín at 6:00 p.m., where the Eucharist will be celebrated upon arrival.
From the different parishes they encourage to accompany this venerated image in the Region of Murcia of our Mother the Most Holy VVirgin Mary of Arrixaca, considered the first Marian devotion in the city.
PROGRAM:
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 21: Reception at Esquina del Convento at 6:00 PM by the clergy, the Mayor, and the general public. Welcome and entry into the Convent of St. Joachim, presentation of the image, welcome speech, and Eucharist. (The reception will remain until Friday at 6:00 PM). Several events will take place during this time.
Friday, February 22:
At 6:00 p.m., the image will be transferred under a canopy to the Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption. Upon arrival, a welcome and Mass will be celebrated.
Saturday, February 23:
At 10:30 a.m., the image will be transferred to the Monastery of the Poor Clares. Upon arrival, the Eucharist will be celebrated.
At 5:00 p.m. Prayer for children and young people.
At 9:00 p.m. Prayer vigil. (Transfer to the Chapel of Christ of Consolation.)
Sunday, February 24:
At 10:00 a.m., Mass will be held at the Hermitage of Cristo del Consuelo. At 11:30 a.m., transfer from the hermitage to the Church of Santa Clara. Upon arrival, a farewell Mass will be held and the deed of return to the Royal Brotherhood of Santa María de la Arrixaca will be signed.
