The 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center in the Murcia Region received several calls starting at 11:50 p.m. this Saturday, August 17, reporting a forest fire in the Fuente del Rey area of the municipality of Cieza.
The Civil Guard, firefighters from the Murcia Region Fire and Rescue Consortium from the Cieza fire station, and a forestry brigade headed by an environmental officer were dispatched to the scene of the fire.
The fire is reported to have affected approximately 200 square meters of forest land, starting on the slope of the RM532 highway (Cieza to Mula road) at kilometer point 10.5.
Ricote Valley Civil Protection is heading to the area with one intervention vehicle and three volunteers.
