The 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center in the Murcia Region received a call at 7:48 p.m. reporting several fires on the banks of the Segura River, past Venta El Ginete, in the municipality of Cieza.
The caller points it out past the El Ginete inn on the right bank of the Segura River.
He reports two fires and their intent. A vehicle has just left the area where the fires occurred, affecting a reedbed and wooded area.
The following units are dispatched to the scene of the fire:
- Environmental agent of the area.
- Firefighters from the Murcia Region Fire and Rescue Consortium from the Cieza Fire Station (a total of 5 firefighters and two firefighting vehicles, one heavy tanker and one heavy rural vehicle).
The environmental agent reports the existence of two hot spots, one of which is spreading rapidly.
9:18 p.m. The environmental officer declares the fire extinguished, which has finally become a smoldering fire.
