2:14 p.m. Emergency services have rescued a hiker who fell while descending Monte de la Atalaya in Cieza.
A call to the 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center in the Murcia Region from the woman who suffered the fall indicated that she was unable to move.
As he slid down the slope, he had fallen into a shallow ravine, and his leg and spine hurt.
The caller was able to provide her location, which made it easier for emergency services to locate her.
Two firefighter crews from the Murcia Region Fire and Rescue Consortium, the Cieza Local Police, the Civil Guard, and a Mobile Emergency Unit from the 061 Health Emergency Management Department were immediately dispatched to the area. The presence of the local Environmental Officer was also requested.
Firefighters from the Consortium reported that the woman was in a difficult-to-access area, known as "Cuesta de las Cabras," in the lower part of Atalaya, which is only accessible on foot.
Once immobilized, they proceeded to lower it to the nearest road where the UME was located.
At around 3:54 p.m., the Environmental Agent reported that the 52-year-old woman was being treated by paramedics.
Once stabilized, she was transferred to the Lorenzo Guirao Hospital in Cieza, where the necessary tests will be performed to determine the extent of the injuries caused by the fall.
