The 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center of the Region of Murcia has received several calls from 7:24 p.m. on Saturday the 1st alerting them of the traffic accident with people trapped after the fruit truck left the road in an accident on the A-30 motorway and subsequently overturned, leaving the vehicle on the road parallel to the motorway, the N-301A Pk 347.
The truck overturned on the N-301A at kilometer marker 340 in the Las Ramblas area, within the municipality of Cieza. The driver is trapped in the cab and firefighters are needed to rescue him.
Reports indicate a traffic jam on the A-30 motorway due to vehicles stopped on it.
Emergency personnel from the following units arrived at the scene of the accident:
- Firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Consortium of the Region of Murcia (10 firefighters with a sergeant in command and five intervention vehicles).
- Road maintenance personnel.
- Two ambulances from the 061 Health Emergency and Urgent Care Management (one ambulance from the emergency service and one Mobile Emergency Unit).
- Civil Guard.
The injured person is in serious condition.
9:00 PM. Firefighters, after freeing the driver, proceed to return to base.
After stabilizing the injured person, UME medical personnel proceeded to transfer him to the La Vega Lorenzo Guirao hospital.
