- The innovation project has involved experts who have resolved issues, primarily involving pest control and phytosanitary treatment of stone fruit, citrus, and olive trees.
The "Integrated Field Technical System" innovation project, selected and funded by the Regional Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Environment of the Region of Murcia and EU funds, which developed the Myagro mobile app, has now completed its development process. Over the course of two years, a team of experts have answered more than 1,200 questions from farmers and producers online on topics such as pest control and pesticide treatment.
More than half of the queries related to stone fruit trees, addressing issues such as fertigation, potential pests, leaf fall, and plant nutrition. Citrus, table grapes, and olive groves were other crops that raised the most concerns among farmers, who used the app to resolve their concerns. They also included images of their crop status to assist with query resolution.
The app has also sparked interest from various cooperatives and agricultural companies in Spain and Latin America, which are already using it in a pilot phase for their members and producers.
The operating group's partners include the Regional Association of Agricultural and Livestock Companies of the Region of Murcia (ASAJA), the Union of Small Farmers and Ranchers of the Region of Murcia (UPA), and Soluciones Agromarketing SL.
