Emergency services have rescued two men in their twenties, who, according to a relative, were cavers, who were lost in the Mulata dam, Almadenes Canyon, in the municipality of Calasparra.
At 7:13 p.m., the 112 emergency service received a call from one of the young men, reporting that they were lost in the area previously mentioned, about 200 meters above the dam, and that they needed to be rescued as they saw it was getting dark. They then decided to call the 112 Emergency Coordination Center of the Region of Murcia.
Environmental agents and Seprona officers were first dispatched to the scene and began the search. Given the inaccessibility of the area, firefighters from the Murcia Region Firefighting and Rescue Consortium were deployed. Using a rubber dinghy, they were able to rescue the victims and evacuate them to the other side of the river around 1:00 a.m., where a relative was waiting to pick them up.
The rescued did not require medical assistance.
