The 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center in the Murcia Region received several calls starting at 6:52 a.m. reporting a house fire that occurred on the second floor of a home located on Numancia Street in Cieza.

They report the existence of two people inside the house.

The following units have been mobilized to the scene:

  • Local police of Cieza.
  • Firefighters from the Murcia Region Fire and Rescue Consortium (a total of eight firefighters and a sergeant in charge, along with four response vehicles: two light urban fire trucks, one articulated boom, and one headquarters vehicle).
  • Two ambulances from the 061 Emergency and Health Management Department (one Mobile Emergency Unit and one non-medical ambulance).

7:17 a.m. Firefighters have declared the fire under control. They have rescued an elderly person and are ventilating the building's stairwells and extinguishing the fire that broke out in the home.

UME health workers treated two people affected by the smoke on-site: two men, aged 66 and 37, respectively.

The two injured people were taken by non-medical ambulance to La Vega Lorenzo Guirao Hospital in Cieza. They are suffering from smoke poisoning.

8:02 a.m. Firefighters declare the blaze extinguished and return to the station.
