Personnel assigned to the Infomur Plan, which combats forest fires, have been mobilized to extinguish a blaze that broke out on the banks of the Segura River, in the Menjú area of the municipality of Cieza.

1-1-2 received calls reporting the fire at 6:45 p.m. Firefighters from the Murcia Region Fire and Rescue Consortium and an environmental officer were on the scene. A helicopter and a forestry brigade were also on hand, as was the Cieza Civil Protection unit.
7:30 p.m. Fire under control. The forestry brigade and helicopter have withdrawn, leaving firefighters from the CEIS, Civil Protection, and an environmental officer on the scene.

8:00 PM. The fire is extinguished. All equipment has been withdrawn. Several hundred square meters have burned, leaving the fire still in its infancy.
