The youth organization extends the deadline for receiving images until November 21.

The Socialist Youth of Cieza announces the 9th edition of the photography contest against gender violence 'Love is not the best thing ever', an awareness and denunciation activity that brings new features this year.

The first new feature is that the third prize will be awarded to the photo with the most 'likes' on @jscieza's Instagram account, and, due to the pandemic situation, the second new feature will be the awards ceremony held via live stream on the same social network on November 25th at 9:00 PM.

The submission period opened on November 3rd and has been extended until November 21st. Photos should be submitted via email to  js_cieza@hotmail.com The email must include the contestants' information: name, date of birth, phone number, and email address, as well as the title of the work submitted. Photographs must be submitted in digital .jpg format, in black and white or color, and with the highest possible resolution.

Each participant may submit as many works as they wish to the competition, provided they do so in separate submissions, each meeting the requirements of the previous point. However, only one work per participant may be awarded a prize.

The project aims to use photography as a tool for raising awareness and promoting understanding of gender-based violence through the direct involvement of society. "Photography should offer a perspective on gender-based violence through denunciation, awareness-raising, and information about its causes, ways to address it, reporting mechanisms, and resources available to victims," the organization stated.

The competition is open to young people up to 31 years old. Creativity, originality, and composition of the submitted works will be valued, as well as technical and stylistic resources. Submissions that are degrading, offensive, insulting, or in any other way considered to be in bad taste will not be accepted.

A first prize of €200, a second prize of €150, and a third prize of €50 will be awarded. The voting period ends on November 24.

The works received will be awarded by a jury composed of representatives of socialist youth and specialist teachers of visual arts.
