The news was expected among the brotherhood community, and an official statement from the Delegation of Brotherhoods and Sisterhoods of the Diocese of Cartagena confirmed it.
For the second year in a row, we're once again without our beloved Holy Week in Cieza. We'll have to wait for an improvement in the current situation so we can once again see our thrones and images parading through our streets.
From here, we send our encouragement and support to the members of the various Brotherhoods that make up our Brotherhood Board and, with them, the creators of a new Holy Week. We will undoubtedly return stronger than ever to enjoy all our traditions. In the meantime, we must be patient and responsible, respecting the regulations established by the health authorities.
"This does not prevent, as also proposed by those present, some acts from being carried out, in various formats, that allow the brotherhood members and the faithful in general to approach the mysteries of our salvation that each Brotherhood or Confraternity guards and promotes, always in agreement with the ecclesiastical Authority and in rigorous compliance with the measures established by the competent health authorities," points out the statement released by the Diocese of Cartagena and on its behalf the Bishop, Monsignor Don José Manuel Lorca Planes.
