Personnel assigned to the Infomur Plan, for fighting forest fires, have controlled a forest fire declared in the Sierra de Benís, in the municipality of Cieza, which remains in a small fire.

Emergency services (112) received calls reporting the fire at 11:07 a.m. One of the forest fire lookout towers confirmed the fire. Environmental agents, Civil Guard patrols, firefighters from the Murcia Region Fire and Rescue Consortium (CEIS), and a helicopter with a firefighting technician and a heliborne forestry brigade were dispatched to the scene.

At 12:06 PM, the firefighting technician declared the fire under control and, shortly afterward, withdrew along with the helicopter-borne brigade and the helicopter. He estimates that just over 500 square meters of wooded land burned.

12:48 p.m. The fire is declared extinguished. The Environmental Crimes Investigation Brigade of the General Directorate of the Natural Environment remains at the scene.
