The 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center of the Region of Murcia received a call at 11:24 a.m. reporting that a group of hikers had found a woman injured with a possible ankle fracture; they were located about 2-3 kilometers from the dam on the path leading to the Almadenes Canyon, in the municipality of Cieza.
They report that the terrain is inaccessible to an ambulance.
The following personnel are mobilized to the scene:
- Helicopter of the General Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies.
- Air rescue group of the Firefighting and Rescue Consortium of the Region of Murcia.
- Environmental agent.
- Ambulance of the Emergency and Health Care Management 061 (A Mobile Emergency Unit with health personnel).
- Local police of Cieza.
- Civil Guard informed.
- Air rescue team proceeds to rescue the injured woman.
The helicopter proceeds to its transfer to the athletics track located next to the sports center, previously prepared by the local police of Cieza for its landing.
Medical personnel from the UME (Military Emergency Unit) are attending to the affected person at the sports center.
He was taken to the Lorenzo Guirao Hospital in La Vega. He has a closed ankle fracture.
