Residents of Cieza must deposit their contributions at the municipal Social Services building, located on Ramón María Capdevila street, this Friday, March 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Department of Social Policy of the Cieza City Council is making an urgent appeal to the general public to donate medicines, food and supplies to send to Ukraine to help those affected by the current armed conflict caused by Russia.
In this way, the municipal area directed by Melba Miñano, echoes and supports the request made by a group of Ukrainian families residing in the Region of Murcia who intend to send a trailer to their country with everything collected this coming weekend, Saturday 5 or Sunday 6 of March.
According to this group, medicines and medical supplies are needed, such as first aid kits and surgical instrument kits; various medications such as alcohol, bandages, hydrogen peroxide, antiseptics, gauze, saline solution, adhesive tape, plasters, latex or vinyl gloves, masks, povidone-iodine (Betadine), epidural sets, and cloth or cotton bandages.
More specific medications are also required, such as adrenaline, amikacin, metamizole, compressors, bupivacaine, konakion (vitamin K), gelaspan 500 ml, dexketoprofen, etamsylate, methylprednisolone (solu-moderin), metoprolol, metronidazole preparation, urgent cricotomy set, noradrenaline, paracetamol 1g intravenously, ibuprofen, enantyum, ringer lactate 500ml, tyrothricin, tranexamic acid ampoule, tracheostomies, central venous catheter, cefepime vial and ringer 500ml.
In the food section, you will need non-perishable foods, canned goods that are not in glass containers, ready-to-eat fast food (yakisoba, powdered purees) or dehydrated food preparation, cookies, energy bars, chocolate, nuts, and powdered milk.
On the other hand, materials such as batteries, flashlights, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, socks, gloves, hats, fleece neck warmers, and thermal underwear are requested (no other type of clothing is necessary).
Finally, the most urgent needs for babies are highlighted: baby food, baby food in pouches (not in glass), baby bottles and wet wipes.
