The remodeling work will allow better access to the bathroom for people with reduced mobility.
This Saturday, the municipal swimming pools at the Mariano Rojas Sports Center will open after their recent renovation. The project has included, among other things, the construction of a ramp in the main pool to make swimming more accessible for people with reduced mobility. "This is a clear commitment to the inclusion of municipal facilities. In addition to the access ramp, two adapted aquatic chairs have been purchased so that users can have adapted access to the showers and the bathroom," indicate municipal sources.
Numerous individuals and groups, including users of the disability centers and those with reduced mobility, will be able to enjoy water recreation and accessible swimming. Carlos Semitiel, Councilor for Sports, states that "this is a much-needed initiative that has long been requested by the facility's swimmers. The need is now met, and it improves the lives of all users by making this recreational area an inclusive space adapted to the needs of all the citizens of Cieza. The initiative has been welcomed with open arms by the municipal Disability Commission."
Another new development from Semitiel is worth noting: Cieza City Council reports that, for the first time this season, the facility's closing time will be extended to 9:00 PM. The facility will open as usual at 11:00 AM.
