Cieza City Council hosted a meeting this Tuesday between the Councilor for Agriculture, Antonio Moya, and the delegated committee of the Local Agricultural Council, made up of Pascual Hortelano (FECOAM), Miguel Ángel Piñera (COAG), and Antonio Moreno (UPA), as well as the Local Police and Civil Guard, to launch a security operation for Cieza's fields this season.
"A campaign," Moya noted, "that keeps us looking up at the sky once again. We've had a few difficult days; let's hope we don't have any more. Water was necessary, but only water. Let's hope the weather holds out and doesn't make the campaign any more difficult." The councilor noted that "for this campaign, we've once again implemented the anti-fruit theft measures.
It starts today and will last as long as the campaign.
As in the last campaign, the single telephone service for farmers (968 01 80 80) will once again be available, providing the Cieza countryside with a direct and common communication tool with the Local Police and the Civil Guard. The Department of Agriculture has produced a series of posters, flyers and stickers that will be distributed and placed in agricultural organisations, cooperatives, irrigation communities, OCA and Sermuco, as well as in the Asensao, El Acho, Benedicto and Los Albares petrol stations.
This also applies to bars and restaurants where farmers and farmworkers pass through. Moya stated that "it is highly recommended to follow and comply with the instructions provided by the Police and Civil Guard in the flyers, since with the collaboration of our farmers and the good work they have been doing in developing and carrying out this task, the Police and Civil Guard, in concert with the City Council, will once again achieve the positive results of previous campaigns."
