This Thursday, the activities planned by the Cieza City Council to commemorate Women's Day begin.

"This is a program of activities, to be held between March 6 and April 7, in which the Cieza City Council has been involved across the board, through the municipal department I direct, along with those of Libraries, Education, and Youth. Each of them has the approval of the Municipal Council for Women and Equality." This was explained by the Councilor for Women and Equal Opportunities, Amparo Pino, who emphasized the suitability of the activities for "all age groups of the population, from the youngest to the oldest."

At the presentation, Pino was accompanied by actresses Lola Balsalobre and Marta Ochando, stars of the play "Todas somos Mari Carmen," which will be performed on March 12 at 8:00 p.m. at the Capitol Theater. This is also where the 8M Gala will also be held, with the annual awards ceremony for the most outstanding women and the reading of the manifesto. Half an hour before the event, the 8M march will depart from Esquina del Convento and will travel along Paseo, Gran Vía, Buen Suceso, and Plaza de España streets, ending at the doors of the Capitol Theater.

However, the program will begin this Thursday, March 6, with the reading day "For Equality" at the Padre Salmerón Municipal Library, where Onda Cieza will broadcast a live radio program from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Students from the town's secondary schools will participate, with readings on equality between women and men. In the afternoon, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., the town's women's associations will do the same.

The Siyasa Museum will be the venue for a coffee-discussion entitled "For Equality" on March 13, starting at 5:30 p.m., organized by the Directorate General for Women and Gender Diversity's awareness-raising program, "SENSIBILIZA-T."
Concert-style music at the Degusta Cieza fair
Meanwhile, the musical performance "En Voz de Ellas" will take place on March 16th, starting at 4:00 PM, as part of the Degusta Cieza gastronomy fair, located in Príncipe de Asturias Park.

Another scheduled activity will be the youth association event "For Equality," scheduled for March 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the OJE Guide's Home in Cieza.

On March 31st, at 11:00 a.m., the unveiling of two plaques honoring the work "Footprints of Ciezan Women" will take place in the Francisca Moya del Baño study room and the Esparto Museum. This initiative is part of the campaign developed by the General Directorate of Women and Gender Diversity of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, which seeks to highlight all those women who have played a significant role in the development of the region.

On April 7, starting at 10:00 a.m., the Capitol Theater will feature a monologue by Instagrammer Marina Marroquí to raise awareness among young people about equal opportunities and the prevention of gender-based violence.

Finally, between March 7 and 31, the council headed by Pino will continue its commitment to equal opportunities for men and women through education, with an awareness campaign aimed at preschool and primary school students in the town's schools. This educational program will enable teachers to work with students on equal opportunities throughout the school year.
