This past Friday, the 24th, at 8:30 p.m., the closing ceremony of the Self-Defense Course for Women took place, held every Friday in November, as has been the tradition since 2001, and free of charge at the Kiai School.
At the event, the manifesto in tribute to the victims of gender-based violence who are no longer among us was read. Following the course's closing, the certificates were presented by Eduardo López Giménez, course instructor, and Ana María Hernández López, President of the Murcia Kickboxing Federation. Thanks to the collaboration of the Self-Defense Department, the certificates were registered.
This year's Self-Defense Course for Women reached 138 participants and focused on the most common assaults and attempted assaults suffered by many women in our society. The four Fridays were filled with intense and hard work. All participants demonstrated interest, effort, and a tremendous spirit of sacrifice. The techniques were performed with the lights on and off, and one by one they passed the test conducted by the instructor, who subjected them to a very high level of stress.
Once again, we must thank the Kiai School and its director, Eduardo López Giménez, for organizing this new women's self-defense course, which has been a huge success in terms of participation.
