Following the visit to Trapani and the signing of the Twinning Agreement between the Unione Maestranze di Trapani and the Junta de Hermandades Pasionarias de Cieza last weekend, January 27, 28, 29, and 30, 2023, the events between the two entities continue.
On February 10, 11, and 12, a delegation composed of the Unione Maestranze di Trapani and presidents and directors of the various brotherhoods and sisterhoods of Trapani will visit our town, Cieza, where, in addition to celebrating the Brotherhood Ceremony and the presentation of the symbol that will be carried in the Holy Week processions in Cieza, they will also present Holy Week in Trapani.
In addition to these central events, other events will take place. On Friday, there will be a reception by the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena in Murcia, a visit to the Holy Cathedral of Murcia, and finally, a guided tour of the Medina Siyasa site and Hermitage of the Most Holy Virgin of Good Success.
On Saturday, at 9:00 a.m. Reception at the Town Hall by the Mayor and his Municipal Corporation, Presentation of the Holy Week of Trapani in the Carmelo Gómez Templado Auditorium at 10:00 a.m., tourist tour of the historic center of Cieza, Official Reception at the House-Museum of the Holy Week of Cieza by the Board of Brotherhoods Passionaries at 5:00 p.m. and Concert of Processional Marches by the Music Band of San Sebastián de Padul (Granada), directed by Mr. Víctor Manuel Ferrer Castillo, with the premiere of the march "1914" dedicated to the Holy Week of Cieza and composed by Mr. Víctor Manuel Ferrer Castillo at the Capitol Theater at 7:00 p.m.
On Sunday, the day will begin with a visit to the Hermitage of the Most Holy Christ of Consolation, then at 10:30 a.m. with the Processional Transfer of the Banners of the Brotherhoods and Confraternities that are part of the Junta de Hermandades Pasionarias (Passion Brotherhoods Board) along the traditional route. A tribute will be paid to the deceased brothers of Cieza and Trapani at the Monument to the Nazarene. Mass will be celebrated by the Most Excellent Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Mr. José Manuel Lorca Planes, in the Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption at 12 p.m. The events will conclude with the Official Act of the Signing of the Twinning Agreement between the Junta de Hermandades Pasionarias (Passion Brotherhoods Board) and the Unione Maestranze di Trapani, followed by the presentation of the symbol for the Holy Burial Procession.
