The project to remodel Saharawi Park has been awarded, so this space will be the next to begin its renovation.
The Department of Public Works and Services continues to adhere to the schedule for improving Cieza's parks. In this instance, the City Council has given the green light to the start of construction on Saharaui Park, while work progresses on Tíjola and Santos Inocentes Parks. It's worth noting that the parks at the Plaza de Abastos (Market Square) and in the Santa Clara neighborhood have already been completed. Furthermore, according to María Jesús López, Councilor for Public Works and Services, "works on Sanz Orrio Park will begin imminently."
Once the open and competitive bidding process, which had a budget of 132,000 euros, was completed, the project was ready to begin its execution shortly.
María Jesús López speaks of parks as public spaces that "it is crucial to value" because "parks are spaces for meeting and socializing, fostering social relationships and enhancing the quality of life for children and adults who can go out to enjoy the sun, play, do sports, or spend time together. People from Cieza like to spend time outdoors, and parks are a fundamental part of the daily lives of many families."
“Given that the renovation of the space has already been awarded, the works will begin shortly. The governing team I belong to and I personally committed to reaching each and every park in this city, because we believe in their transformative power, and that is proving to be the case. We are fulfilling the commitment we made to the people of Cieza,” López concludes.
