PRESS RELEASE – CIEZA MERCHANTS ASSOCIATION
The Merchants Association, in response to statements made in the press by a municipal group from the City Council stating that we were not informed of the call for a grant from the CARM (Mexico City Council), without having verified this with us, wishes to state that it is not true. The Department of Commerce informed us of the publication of this grant first on November 10th, which was the date on which it was first published in the BORM (National Registry of Municipalities of the Municipality of Madrid), and subsequently of the new call for proposals.
The Board of Directors is developing a project with the technical and legal advice of the department. We will soon present it to our members and, after their approval, submit it to the grant application process, which closes on March 9th. This project demonstrates our ongoing relationship and communication with the department.
We also know of a meeting on February 8th with the Director General of Commerce, where they will provide details of all the subsidies, and representatives from the Cieza City Council will attend.
Our association was created to promote and develop commerce in Cieza, and we work towards that every day. Therefore, we oppose any political use of it. At the same time, we invite all political groups to work for an important pillar of the municipality's economic development: our small and medium-sized businesses.
Board of Directors of the Cieza Merchants Association.
