Cieza will celebrate its first BiodiverCity Festival, which will take place between March 18 and 24. This is an initiative of the Cieza Department of Environment and Water as part of the URBACT project, whose purpose is to improve the municipal biodiversity strategy and promote a community-based approach to valuing, measuring, and accounting for biodiversity and associated ecosystem services.
The scheduled activities will begin this Tuesday with a co-creation workshop under the slogan "Designing Schools for Children" held at the Cristo del Consuelo School.
The next activity will be the guided tour "Experience Urban Nature. Tree Legacy," which aims to promote urban biodiversity and the municipality's monumental trees.
On March 21st, International Tree Day, the organizers of this initiative will carry out a symbolic planting in Cabezo de la Fuensantilla as part of the "Weaving Neighborhoods, Threading Lives" project. This is the first time the planter sponsorship program has been implemented.
Finally, the BiodiverCity Festival will conclude on March 24 with another Environment Day event: a symbolic planting ceremony at the Miguel de Cervantes and Madre del Divino Pastor schools.
