The Cieza Municipal Social Services Centre reports that educational activities have begun within the framework of the Municipal Program for the Prevention of Drug Addiction, subsidized by the Ministry of Public Health and Addictions.
These prevention programs have been designed to reduce risk factors and enhance protective factors among the youngest in the municipality, who are therefore more vulnerable, against the future likelihood of using or abusing legal or illegal substances.
Both experience and evaluation of existing programs reveal the need for actions from educational centers that are continuous over time, with a methodology adapted to the population being worked with and with rigorously established objectives that go beyond the purely informative.
The projects currently underway are the "Puzzle" project, aimed at students in Basic Vocational Training; the "Game of Keys" project, for first-year Compulsory Secondary Education students; and the "Addiction Prevention Project," for third-year Compulsory Secondary Education students. This program will be complemented by prevention and training activities for parents and professionals in the fields of education, leisure, and recreation during March and April.
