The Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of Murcia is meeting in Cieza to celebrate the flowering season. Following the success of the Flowering Tourism Plan, various regional organizations are holding board meetings these days, drawn by the beautiful landscapes of our countryside.
The mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, along with Antonio Moya, councilor for agriculture and tourism, welcomed the leadership of the federation of cooperatives. They also highlighted the importance of cooperatives to the municipal economy, emphasizing their role in improving the lives of Cieza's farmers.
Furthermore, the mayor emphasized all the work that has been carried out in agriculture. We have created a promotional image and video for our peaches so that they can be advertised and showcased. At the same time, we are working to obtain the Protected Geographical Indication for Cieza Peaches. In addition, we are preparing the agricultural vocational training program for the next academic year, and we have also implemented the farmer's center.
“We want agriculture and cooperatives to remain the main economic sectors in Cieza. But we also want industry to develop, contribute to, and complement the development and employment of Cieza's economy,” the mayor concluded.
