The Regional Agricultural Office (OCA), located next to the INFOEM facilities, is available to all those interested in applying for these subsidies, which are mostly financed by the European Union.

The Cieza City Council, through the Department of Agriculture, announces the call for aid intended for investments in agricultural holdings within the framework of the Rural Development Program of the Region of Murcia 2014-2020.

These subsidies aim to increase the competitiveness of farms by improving yields and reducing production costs; improve the living and working conditions of farmers and livestock breeders in rural areas; and improve the production structures of farms. Ultimately, the goal is to achieve the environmental sustainability of farms, ensure their continued participation in agricultural activity by generating or maintaining jobs, and thus, maintain the rural population and preserve the environment.

The financing of the aid regulated in this Order corresponds to 63,00% to the European Union, through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), 11,10% to the General State Administration, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), and 25,90% to the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, through the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.

The deadline for submitting applications is next March 15, 2019. The regulations governing the grants, as well as the call for applications, can be found at the following links:

For his part, the councilor for agriculture emphasized the crucial need for collaboration among all institutions to address citizens' problems. "Local councils, as the institutions closest to the citizens, have an obligation to inform them and provide advice on the services offered by other institutions," the councilor stated.
