The Local Development and Revitalization Plan visits were resumed with Juan Cano Ballesteros, manager of the Cieza-based company Tableros Andrés. The visit recognized the need to train men and women in carpentry, as Cieza was running out of professionals in the sector.
Last Monday, the round of contacts included in the Local Development and Revitalization Plan (LDP) was resumed with a visit to the Cieza-based company Tableros Andrés, located in the Ascoy Industrial Park. A leading timber handling and trading company, it has returned to around 20 employees after being reduced to 12 due to the economic crisis.
The businessman addressed the challenge of finding people trained in carpentry in the Cieza labor market, allowing him to continue expanding his work both in the region and beyond. In this regard, the Councilor for Employment and Economic Development pledged to launch a specialized carpentry course within the PdDL (Department of Development Program).
The councilor also spoke about the necessary collaboration from entrepreneurs once the business incubator is operational. "The 'coworking space' will be nurtured by a project that will share new ideas with the experience of those who have established companies in a given sector. In this way, the shared workspace can also serve to establish businesses that existing ones require," the councilor stated.
After the tour of the company's facilities, Juan Cano explained the development and expansion process he had undertaken and the new machinery that facilitated the work of the workers there. He also stated, "We are proud of the recovery of the sector after these difficult years. If Ciezan companies thrive, life in our city will be better. That's why any help from the City Council is always positive."
Mayor Pascual Lucas explained the reason for the meeting, which was to establish new channels of communication with the business community. "We are pleased to be here, to gather all the proposals and requests you have to make to improve employment and stability for the people of Cieza. Over the coming months, we will continue to support the municipality's industrial network by establishing and organizing new channels, now among business owners. Collaboration is essential for the proper development of our work," the mayor concluded.
