Next Wednesday, August 9th at the Atalaya Ateneo Club in the Villa de Cieza at 9:30 p.m., Filip Verneert & Enrique Simón Quartet will hold an open-air concert that will undoubtedly be a perfect plan for a summer evening.
This group is a European project formed in 2015, with two albums released (Youkali Music) and over 100 concerts in countries such as France, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, and Scotland. They have participated in important festivals such as the Gent International Jazz Festival in Belgium (with artists such as Pat Metheny, Brad Mehldau, and John Scofield) and the Zeeland Jazz Festival in the Netherlands.
The band is composed of Belgian guitarist Filip Verneert, Spanish pianist Enrique Simón, French double bassist Gil Lachenal, and Spanish drummer Pedro Vázquez. The quartet presents a style of European contemporary jazz with original compositions.
